Welcoming Sherry Stewart as the Journal of Gambling Issues' Editor-in-chief

It is with great pleasure that the Editorial Board of the Journal of Gambling Issues announces the appointment of Dr. Sherry Stewart as Editor-in-chief.

Dr. Stewart is internationally respected for her research on psychological factors contributing to addictive disorders, and the co-morbidity of mental illness and addictions. Her research on problem gambling is wide-ranging – in the past 10 years, she has been awarded grants and published on problem gambling-related topics that include (but are not limited to) motivations, cognitions, reward mechanisms, video lottery terminals (VLTs), cross-addictions, and psychometrics.

Currently, Dr. Stewart is a Killam Research Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Psychology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Both a practicing clinician and researcher, she has previously served as Director of Training of the Doctoral Clinical Psychology Program, and today holds a Governor-in-Council appointment with the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse.

We look forward to having Dr. Stewart uphold the tradition of trusted scholarly editorship that has, since our inception, been a hallmark of our Journal. At the same time, we welcome the personal mark that Dr. Stewart's special qualities will undoubtedly bring to our publication.
